Ancient Groove Music is run by Ben Byram-Wigfield, a singer and musicologist based in London. He has a PhD from the Open University for his thesis on the sacred music of Antonio Lotti. He was a chorister at King's College, Cambridge, a choral scholar at St. Mary's Episcopal Cathedral, Edinburgh, and a Lay Clerk at Gloucester Cathedral.
Ben also conducts the Buon Tempi Consort, an occasional group made up of London singers and instrumentalists, for the purpose of showcasing music from the Ancient Groove catalogue, particularly those that are otherwise unknown. He sings for several London church choirs and choral ensembles, and has also been known to dabble in a number of male-voice 'barbershop' ensembles.
Watch this video about his involvement with The Sixteen on a new edition of Allegri's Miserere.
He is also the author of "In Search of Failure", a humorous self-help book (New Holland 2004, ISBN 978-1843308560). Now rather rare! He has also written a manual for Finale music notation software, "Finale Music App Basics", in the Everyday Guides Mades Easy series by Flame Tree Publishing. (2015, ISBN 9781783613953).
